Adjustment System

One of our customers needed a low cost and simple system to replace four adjustment hand wheels on a machine. This hand adjustment took always a lot of time, because one man had to go around the machine to set the wheels in the good position. In some cases this has to be repeated a few times since it is difficult to turn them all exactly the same way. The customer likes to use four motors, driven by one single control. The speed can be very low, up to one revolution per second would be very good.

A test was done with 4 pieces KML092F07 motors connected to one single SS2000MD4M-O. The motor windings were connected in series to have the same current through all motors. The test was very successful; the motor ran very good and had almost the normal torque. Of course the maximum speed is very low, 160 full steps per second is the highest possible speed.

The driver can only increase the speed with increments of 40 full steps. Therefore the system was tested on 40, 80, 120, 160 and 200 steps / second. At 160 s/s there was some noise from motor resonance, at 200 s/s the running was unstable and the torque became very low, the motor could be stopped by hand. The recommended speeds are 40, 80 and 120 steps per second.
